I hope everyone had a cleanse-full Pisces Full Moon and Partial Lunar Eclipse, and I wish everyone an easeful transition into fall/spring with the upcoming September Equinox tomorrow.

I want to begin by acknowledging the inconsistent nature of this Substack, so far. I set overly ambitious goals for my content and schedule at the onset of stellar mechanics, and I’m realizing that I need to readjust my plan. Everyone can still expect regular essays on stardom, though the release rate will fluctuate depending on my capacity. (Next essay on stardom modes coming out before the end of the month!)

I also want to thank the paying cupidsnails for continuing to financially support this project. <3 And to apologize for not fully delivering on the bonus content I previously promised. 😞 I’m optimistic about my ability to deliver compelling content in gratitude for and service of financial support, though!! So thank you, paid subscribers, for your patience as I get my business in order. And thank you, everyone, for coming along this intellectual journey with me thus far, and for bearing with me as I figure out a sustainable pace for stellar mechanics.

As I finish up the next essay, I wanted to send out a major update to everyone to better contextualize what the heck I’m trying to do with this Substack. I’ve been dreaming up and working towards some serious goals, and I feel the need to be more explicit about how stellar mechanics fits into my broader career aspirations. Paying cupidsnails get a much more thorough update. ;p

I’ll start by sharing my grander plans for my own star.

Ambitiously, I currently conceive of myself as preparing three major proofs for launch: my debut documentary feature film, debut non-fiction book, and debut album. Through these works, I hope to fully launch my own star by garnering some degree of mainstream commercial and critical success.

More fundamentally, through these the proofs, I intend to articulate, in different ways, the following argument on stardom: (1) stars are made of collective memory, (2) collective memory is a commons that has been enclosed by the matrix of domination, which results in the reproduction of harmful stardom modes, and (3) nurturing more convivial stardom modes requires the re-commoning of collective memory.

Proving the veracity of this thesis through my artistic practice—if I may speak grandly—feels like the soul purpose of my current incarnation, an overarching meta-intention that informs the aspirations for my life and career 🤩🤩🤩 I want to EGOT babyyyyy (gimme a Pulitzer, too, while we’re at it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), and I want to fundamentally alter our understandings of stardom along the way!!
